Getting There
To get to Montalcino you have several options depending on your preferences and circumstances:
By Air
If you're coming from non - EU countries, you'll likely fly into one of Italy's major international airports such as Milan's Malpensa Airport or Rome's Fiumicino Airport (Leonardo da Vinci Airport). From there, you can easily rent a car or catch a train to Montalcino.

Perugia: 1 hour 15 minutes
Florence: 1 hour 40 minutes
Rome: 2 hours 15 minutes
Pisa: 2 hours 30 minutes
By Train
Italy boasts an extensive rail network. You can hop on a train from major cities such as Milan or Rome or Florence to nearby towns like Siena, Grosseto, Chiusi-Chianciano, or Buonconvento. From these stations, you can hop on a bus or arrange for a private driver to take you to Montalcino.
Closest train stations:
Grosseto or Chiusi-Chianciano or Buonconvento (the closest, though requiring two changes from both Rome and Florence). You can explore all train options directly here.
By Car
Opting for a car rental grants you flexibility and convenience, especially if you're keen on exploring the Tuscan countryside. Montalcino is easily reachable by car, offering a scenic drive through the rolling hills of Tuscany.
To reach the Convent, simply search "Antico Convento I Cappuccini" on Google Maps.
Upon reaching the roundabout next to the fortress of Montalcino, take the junction towards Grosseto. After approximately 3 km and passing the hotel "SI Montalcino" you'll spot a brown sign reading "Conv. I Cappuccini" at km 38.V on the right side of the road. At this point, three roads branch off; to reach the Convent, take the central one.
IMPORTANT
On the day of the wedding you will have to leave your cars in Montalcino, as there is NO PARKING at the reception venue. There will be SHUTTLE BUSES to take you to the ceremony and reception, then back to Montalcino afterwards (from midnight till late).
